Remi Bakker, Director Wind Sales at Poseidon Systems, LLC. Remi’s 10 years in wind as a technician and sales person will be invaluable to help the continued growth of Poseidon Systems.
What would you tell your 13 year old self?
This wasn’t your last summer of hard manual labor. You’re in for a lot more of it. Get used to it. Enjoy it. Learn from it and apply those lessons to every aspect of your life.
Don’t take your ability to work for granted. Hard work will afford you every opportunity in life that coincidence and luck cannot.
If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet and why?
My great grandfather, Remi Callens an immigrant from Belgium after whom I was named. I’d ask him how he pronounces his first name. The “e” in my name is somewhat of an enigmatic vowel when it comes to different dialects and languages. It’s been a bit of a nuisance having one of those names that people aren’t quite sure how to pronounce.
What would you do, for a career, if you weren’t doing this?
I would have likely continued my career as a wind turbine technician had I not been afforded certain opportunities throughout my career. I do miss the 300 ft. office from time to time.
What about Poseidon Systems excites you the most?
The amount of potential this company has. As a former customer, I’ve seen the company grow into what it is today, and I’m looking forward to contributing to its continued success as an employee.
