Rochester, NY, February 22, 2019 – Poseidon Systems has released its next generation Trident Fluid Quality Monitoring System (FQMS) 2.0, the world’s most advanced industrial IoT fluid monitoring system. The Trident FQM 2.0 was purpose built and tested for some of the world’s most critical equipment within mining, OHV, power generation, marine, and other applications. With over 50 fielded FQMS 2.0 units, Poseidon Systems has validated the capability of detecting mechanical failures at the earliest point in time and monitor fluid quality real-time, allowing for fluid RUL estimations and true condition-based oil changes. “The data and analysis provided by Poseidon Systems’ Trident FQMS enabled us to make an informed decision to remove an asset from service that otherwise would have suffered catastrophic failure,” says Steve Baxter, Anglo American. “This early detection has resulted in improved safety, significant savings in downtime and production costs, savings in consumable costs and reducing our environmental footprint. The QW3100 is the most advanced oil quality sensor we have put on our mining equipment, allowing us to extend the operational life of our oil and reduce oil sampling.”
This capability allows for operators to avoid millions in repair cost and reduce fluid consumption/waste by up to 50%. “The FQMS 2.0 is the result of years of development and testing in partnership with our customers,” Mark Redding, President of Poseidon Systems said. “One major request we received was the capability to expand the system based on our customers unique needs. Beyond our base offering, we have developed a true Industrial IoT platform that can integrate a number of other sensors to expand monitoring to a greater number of components on the asset.” Anchored by the Trident AP2200 edge device and Poseidon Live (PSL), Poseidon’s cloud-based monitoring software, the FQMS 2.0 is a true Industrial IoT platform. The Trident AP2200 is capable of integrating most wireless sensors and wired digital/analog sensors, easily adding expanded online monitoring to more components and equipment using PSL. PSL is currently monitoring the fluid of over 2,500 assets; an updated PSL 2.0 will be released in Fall 2019. Installation of the FQMS 2.0 and Poseidon Systems’ other IIoT fluid solutions are expected to ramp up by 3,500 new installations in 2019 across mining, OHV, power generation, marine, and other applications. ABOUT POSEIDON SYSTEMS: Poseidon Systems, LLC is a leader in Industrial IoT fluid solutions, designing and manufacturing best-in-class fluid sensors. Through Poseidon Live (PSL), online monitoring software, Poseidon Systems is helping customers detect asset failures at the earliest possible point in time and prevent failures through identification of root causes before failure occurs. Through the world’s most advanced fluid quality sensor, operators are able to track fluid quality and estimate RUL, saving millions in fluid consumption and waste.
