Manager, Mining Sales & Partnerships

    We are seeking a Manager, Mining Sales & Partnerships to expand Poseidon’s business in the mining industry and support partners within the mining space as a subject matter expert.

    This position will preferably be based in our Victor, NY location, but can be remote for the right individual.

    This is position requires a mix of skills including sales, subject matter expert of mining operations and maintenance, and customer support.

    Job Summary:

    The Manager, Mining Sales & Partnerships will lead all aspects of engagements with existing and new customers for our mining products and solutions; building relationships and understanding customer business, to provide products or solutions.

    As part of Poseidon’s growth strategy, the Manager, Mining Sales & Partnerships will support and coordinate worldwide distributors in sales to mining customers as needed.

    This position will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing staff to ensure all customer needs are met in a timely manner.

    Applicants should be driven by a commitment to excellence and a customer-first mentality.

    A background in mining condition monitoring technologies and machinery maintenance is highly desired.

    Electrical Engineer

      The Electrical Engineer will lead hardware and firmware development activities for a range of sensor technologies. Developments range in scope from minor updates to existing products’ electrical designs and firmware, to ground up product development. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of design (requirements development, conceptual and detailed design, prototyping, and verification/validation testing). The ideal candidate will have strong analog design experience with a passion for sensor development. Developments will include fluid diagnostic sensors, data acquisition systems, wireless communications systems, as well as other non-fluid diagnostic related products.

      Responsibilities:

      • Design and develop custom electronics to establish desired system performance

      Design, Manufacture, and test analog and digital circuitry

      Generate supporting design documentation (requirements, schematics/layout, test reports)

      Collaborate with mechanical, embedded software, test & mechanical teams

      Support design through prototyping and manufacturing

       

      • Develop new sensing methods and products

      Evaluate customer needs to identify areas of new sensing technology

      Evaluate competing products and patent space to identify areas of opportunity

      Engineering Technician

        Poseidon Systems has an immediate need for an Engineering Technician to support Engineering in our Victor, NY location.

        Job Summary:

        The Engineering Technician will help solve a wide range of technical problems.

        • Build or set up equipment, conduct experiments, and collect data and calculate results.
        • With the guidance of Engineering, execute design verification test plans and produce test reports.
        • Maintain lab space and equipment.
        • Build, test, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and cable assemblies.
        • Support quality control by auditing processes, checking products, performing tests, and collecting data.
        • Support Manufacturing by developing and maintaining process details.
        • Support Manufacturing by troubleshooting issues on the line.
        • Support Applications Engineering with product installations.
        • Maintain an exceptional level of professionalism and safety while coordinating activities at the customer site.

        Desired Skills/Qualifications:

        • Associates degree or technical certificate with 5+ years of relevant experience.
        • Experience with electrical test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, DMM, power supply, etc.).
        • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
        • Experience in assembly, test, and configuration and soldering through hole and SMT components.
        • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
        • Ability to read and follow written and or verbal instructions.
        • Highly organized and self-motivated individual.
        • Travel, approximately 10% of the time.
        • Experience as a field service technician.
        • Ability to represent the company in a positive manner when working directly with customers.
        • Experience using standard machine shop equipment (drill press, lathe, mill, etc)
        • Due to the nature of some of our projects, U.S. citizenship is required
        • Experience with quality assurance practices – visual inspection, component/unit level testing
        • Knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes and manufacturing related software systems

        Production Assemblers & Technicians

          Poseidon Systems has an immediate need for Production Assemblers & Technicians to support a line of fluid diagnostic sensors in our Victor, NY location.

          Job Summary:

          The Production Assembler will support the assembly of a range of sensor products. Responsibilities include producing crimped and soldered connections and use of hand tools for the assembly of cables & sub-assemblies.

          The Production Technician will support the assembly of a range of sensor products. Responsibilities include assembly, test, and configuration and soldering through hole and SMT components.

          Desired Skills/Qualifications:
          Assemblers:

          • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
          • Experience assembling custom assemblies and cables
          • Experience crimping, hand soldering, components on PCBAs
          • Ability to read and follow electrical schematics and mechanical prints
          • 3+ years of relevant experience or high school diploma / GED with a 5+ years of relevant experience

          Technicians:

          • Experience listed above plus
          • Experience with electrical test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, DMM, power supply, etc.)

          Mechanical Engineer

            Poseidon Systems has an immediate need for a mechanical engineer for development of the next generation condition monitoring products and services. This position will be based in our Rochester NY location.

            Job Summary:

            The Mechanical Engineer will support company efforts to advance existing designs and develop new product offerings. The ideal candidate will have experience in product design, specifically in integrating electronic components in mechanical assemblies in harsh environments. Experience in design of systems for such environments such as industrial monitoring systems, power generation components, on and off-road vehicles sensing systems or aerospace is considered a plus. Experience in design for metallic casting, plastic injection molding (including over-molded assemblies), hydraulic systems, and electromechanical systems will all be useful in the day-to-day tasks for this position.

             

            Responsibilities include but will not be limited to:

            • Perform trade studies on various manufacturing techniques, materials, and finishes, to minimize cost and improve part quality and durability.
            • Develop product requirement and specification documents.
            • Ground up design of new products, components, and assemblies utilizing Solidworks
            • Generate drawing packages for quoting using GD&T methods.
            • Maintain existing product data such as updating models, revising existing prints, and generating management of change documentation to support all updates.
            • Interface with suppliers to optimize designs for cost, lead times, and all elements of the quoting process.
            • Create documentation packages for incoming inspection of mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic parts.
            • Analyze material non-conformances and issue dispositions as necessary
            • Perform structural and thermal analysis on components both during design phase and for failure root cause analysis.
            • Support production as needed. Potential examples include, development of work instructions, troubleshooting component supplier issues, and continuously improve part quality through design changes. Additionally, be able and willing to perform end-to-end hand builds of custom, to-spec, systems for customers.
            • Build prototypes and test fixtures utilizing in-house machine tools (mill, lathe, etc), and 3rd party suppliers as required.
            • Support field service efforts as needed. This includes working at heights, in remote areas, and dirty locations.

            Required Skills:

            • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
            • 1 – 5+ years of experience in some form of product design
            • SOLIDWORKS, MATLAB, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
            • DFM, GD&T, and creation of mechanical prints
            • Metrology for incoming inspection (Micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, etc)

            Preferred Skills:

            • Injection molded plastic design, particularly with over-molded components.
            • Mechanical design with magnetic and/or thermal considerations
            • Familiarity with design for metal stamping and/or deep drawn parts
            • Comfortable using machine tools such as vertical mills, lathes, and related equipment
            • LabVIEW for developing test benches and running production line equipment
            • Basic structural and thermal FEA
            • Hydraulic and/or oil lube system design and/or maintenance experience in these areas
            Embedded Software Engineer

            Poseidon Systems has an immediate need for Embedded Software Engineer to support product development efforts in our Victor, NY location. Become a key contributor within a small company that’s experiencing rapid growth.   

            This position is on-site and based in Victor, NY.  Please do not apply if you are not able to work in the office Monday – Friday from 8AM – 5PM EST and if you do not have at least 3+ years of programming experience developing for microcontroller targets.  Applicant must be authorized to work in the US.

            Job Summary:

            The Embedded Software Engineer will develop and test firmware for several products on a range of development platforms. Developments range in scope from minor updates and patches for existing products’ firmware, to ground up product development. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of design (requirements development, conceptual and detailed design, prototyping, and verification/validation testing). The ideal candidate will be well versed in C programming with prior experience in industrial communications interfaces such as Modbus, CAN, and IO-Link. Applicants should be driven by a commitment to excellence, a sense of urgency / competitive spirit, and enjoy working in a small team environment.

            Responsibilities: 

            The Embedded Software Engineer will design, test, and support electrical and firmware designs for Poseidon’s full product line. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

            • Design and develop embedded code to create desired system performance
            • Collaborate with engineering team to develop new products
            • Generate design documentation (requirements, manuals, test procedures)
            • Conduct and/or lead research efforts to improve system performance or address issues
            • Perform system testing and debugging
            • Customer support as required identifying and resolve issues and/or develop custom solutions

            Requirements:

            • BS or MS Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
            • Experience developing for microcontroller targets
            • Strong proficiency C programming (exposure to Python, Javascript, MySQL, Matlab, Linux considered beneficial)
            • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
            • Ability to travel (limited travel anticipated)
