Meet Amanda Redding, Software Engineer at Poseidon Systems, LLC. It wasn’t until she was earning a master’s degree in Evolutionary Genetics, that Amanda was first introduced to computer programming– and it was love at first type! This inspired her to switch gears and pursue a software engineering career. Amanda has worked at Poseidon Systems for 4 years now. One of her current projects is developing an exciting, new version of Poseidon’s web portal, Poseidon Live.

What would you tell your 13 year old self?

Engineering isn’t just for boys!

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet and why?

Chip and Joanna Gaines–they are such a great couple and have amazing design skills. Maybe they would even give Poseidon HQ a makeover. The office could use some shiplap!

What would you do, for a career, if you weren’t doing this?

I would probably be working in biology research, trying to find ways to do as much programming and as little benchwork as possible.

What about Poseidon Systems excites you the most?

Being a part of a growing company is very exciting. Every new contract or customer we get feels like a win for the whole team!
